do any standard Home Contents Insurance Policies in the uk pay out for cd’s, dvd’s etc.?
I’m trying to get an online insurance quote and I’m finding that none of the companies I have looked at so far will cover CDs, DVDs games discs etc. under a household contents policy. Apparently they are deemed too high a risk. I have rather a lot of cd’s and to rebuild my collection would be nigh on impossible and very costly. any advice/help would be appreciated.
I don’t know of any company that would refuse to cover a collection like this. They would not be covered under a standard home contents policy but you could add the collection as an extra item and pay an additional premium to cover them. We do that with our current insurer and we did it with the last one too. We have never had a problem getting the cover, it just costs a little more.
